This is a fantastic day out from Dunedin which takes you in to heart of the region’s rail history. You are first transferred to Ranfurly via minibus, a journey that takes you through the picturesque Strath Taieri Valley. Here you collect your bikes and start your journey along the rail trail, passing through the old gold mining town of Waipata before reaching the particularly scenic section between Daisybank and Hyde, passing over historic stone bridges and through 152-metre long Prices Creek Tunnel, cycling a total of 30 kilometres. From Hyde you will be transferred by minibus to Pukerangi where you join the Taieri Gorge Railway back to Dunedin. The whole tour takes approx. 10.5 hours. Snacks and a packed lunch are included.
