The Millenium hotel is situated right on the edge of Lake Taupo, just steps away from the waterfront. Despite being part of a chain of hotels it is a relatively small property and has lovely boutique feel to it, with artistic touches in the décor and a cosy and friendly ambiance. All the rooms have uninterrupted views of the lake – ground floor rooms have a small patio which opens out on to the lakefront walkway and first floor rooms have a small balcony. There are two restaurants: Beach 243 which offers casual, family dining, and Edgewater Restaurant, a fine dining option. Both look out over the lake, as does the Lakefront Bar, which is a great place from which to enjoy a Taupo sunset. For other leisure activities the property has a small gym, outdoor pool and sauna as well as a tennis court.
