Wairakei Resort is located in a peaceful location ten minutes north of Taupo, close to, and indeed powered by, the nearby geothermal activity. It offers a range of spacious and comfortable rooms with a private porch or balcony, mini-fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Larger studio rooms also have a separate lounge area. The property has a fitness centre and two outdoor pools as well as a geothermally heated hot tub. If you’re feeling a bit more active there are tennis and squash courts on site, mountain bikes for hire and a nine-hole golf course across the road. There are also a couple of eating options: the Pavilion Restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast and dinner and the Fairways Café that is open for light meals during the day.
