The Sky Tower is the most prominent feature of Auckland’s skyline, standing 328 metres tall at the heart of the city. Take the glass-fronted elevator up to the Sky Deck, at 220 metres high, and enjoy superb, panoramic views of the city and Watemata Harbour. On the lower Observation Deck (a mere 186 metres high) you can also look straight down through several glass panels in the floor. There are information boards that indicate the main points of interest and give you a bit of historical background to both the city and the tower itself. There is also a casual café at the top as well as two fine dining restaurants (booked required) and a gift shop at the entrance on the ground floor.
