The Skyline Gondola is one of the best ways to see spectacular views of Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains. Departing from the edge of downtown Queenstown it rises 450 metres to the top of Bob’s Peak from which you can enjoy an incredible vista: the town of Queenstown bustles below, overlooked by Coronet Peak, the Remarkables, Walter Peak and Cecil Peak. There is a café and restaurant at the top and a luge track for those seeking a bit of fun. Traditional haka performances take place daily (around 5pm onwards) and the gondola is also open in to the evening for stargazing.
